Did you know that a recent study just came out that revealed that doing this one thing could increase your risk of diabetes by fourfold? back to another episode where I help younger physicians decrease stress and increase income by transitioning from corporate to independent practices, even without any business experience. Yes. And that one thing is actually smoking cannabis. So 4 million people were studied.
in between Europe and the U S and they looked at patients who smoked marijuana and those that didn't, and they followed them for five years. And it was found that there was a fourfold increase in those that smoked marijuana in diabetes type two and those that didn't. So that is a crazy number. So I would venture to say maybe it's related to the munchies.
but maybe there's some scientific reasons. I actually am probably gonna do a full on episode on this study because I find it fascinating, especially because we have tons of people smoking these days, now that it's legal in many states in the US, and I think it's worth taking a look at because I have so many diabetic patients. I wonder if that's a contributing factor.
